Typografie auf Seide
Dafi Kühne, a Swiss artist with roots in Glarus, is considered an icon in the world of typography. Students from around the globe travel to this small mountainous canton to learn how to combine modern design with centuries-old letterpress traditions using long-forgotten fonts and printing presses that weigh several tonnes.
The 'LeDafi' collection was born from a fascination with Dafi's craftsmanship and a shared passion for precise, timeless manufacturing.
For this carte blanche project, Dafi swapped billboards for silk twill. Dafi also designed the pattern on the box. The motif was carved into linoleum and then printed on each box individually using a two-tonne printing press.
